Main options for Dutch readers
When we tick in on google the word: ‘standing desk’ as this is what we are looking for in the first place. We can see 4 sellers clearly coming up on top first in the searches: Beliani.nl, Officecity.nl, IDworkspace.com and Fitnest.eu. We consider these your main 4 options and we will review all four of them looking at various aspects of each seller. For you to be able to decide better which one you’d like to choose your desk from.
Beliani.nl
Beliani is an internationally operating retailer with an incredible assortment of office goods in general. Their assortment of standing desks is also impressive according to international standards. We’ve counted 29 different standing desks on their website! This ranges from normal automatically lifted desks to corner desks with the corners available on both sides of the desk. This differentiates them from a lot of retailers as many retailers don’t offer electrically adjustable corner-desks. Which could be a big plus for the buyers among us who would like this configuration in their set-up.
The normal sized standing desks are mostly available in the widths 130 cm – 160 cm – 180 cm. While the corner desks are only available with one desk size.
Delivery is free and most desks are relatively competitively priced so we consider Beliani.nl a solid option for your standing desk. The basic automatically lifting standing desk is priced a bit higher than average though. And the lifting capacity is only 60kg while Fitnest.eu’s basic Sierra desk has a lifting capacity of 125kg! While still being roughly 10% cheaper. It is a point to consider. As one can say that the availability in configurations compensates for less performance for a higher price. With a good amount of color options for the tops as seen above, customization is indeed a great selling point.
OfficeCity.nl
Office City is one of the Netherlands’ biggest and well known office furniture retailers. They are responsible for many interior projects and offer a wide range of products in their assortment. Therefore, the first thing we notice when checking their website for standing desks is the incredible assortment of desks! See the image below.
We can see 41 desks available! This is the largest assortment so far we’ve seen.
The starting prices are the lowest we’ve seen so far in the Netherlands. Which is a very positive aspect for most people getting into standing desks. Being affordable is a very good and sought after green flag for any retailer. The extremely unique standing desks as seen in the image underneath are also very interesting for individuals who don’t want or need a conventionally shaped standing desk.
It has to be noted that Office City offers 19 different table top options! That is a huge number of table top colors. What is a very unpleasant surprise though is that the delivery is NOT free of charge. For the cheapest automatic standing desk you pay a fee of 45,00 euro for delivery. Which could be a no-go for some buyer opting to go for better performing desks who are a bit more expensive but where delivery is atleast free. This way to get the most bang for your buck. Compared to the entry-model on Beliani which can lift 60 kg, the Office City entry model can lift 100kg.
Which is a great increase in performance, although it still does not beat Fitnest’s Sierra entry level series.
Idworkspace.com
ID Workspace is an office furniture retailer with 3 impressive showrooms. Located in Dubai, New York and yes Rotterdam! Which is great news for our Dutch customers who want to visit the showrooms to view the products before making any purchase.
Their assortment is limited to one conventional automatically lifted standing desk. And one small minimalist automatic adjustable standing desk visible on the left in the image underneath. Also there is a double standing desk available. Which is a unique model with double automatically adjustable desks and a separating screen.
The customization options are very good when looking at the page underneath. We can see that they offer 4 top colors and there are even some colors which you can get, but you need to contact ID Workspace to find out. Of course we don’t want to bother the fine ID Workspace crew so we did not. But if you’re interested we recommend you to send a message and check out the available options. Perhaps your dream color is in between there. And there are 4 different sizes available: (W120 X D60), (W140 x D70), (W160 x D80) and (W180 x D80). Which is a good assortment in sizes to be honest. Although there are only 2 frame colors unfortunately.
Fitnest.eu
As mentioned in the last blog, Fitnest.eu is an established online retailer originally from the Netherlands.
